今回初開催となったシルバーストーンサーキットですが、レイアウトは高速コーナーの連続で路面はバンピーでスリップリーな難しいサーキットでした。各セッションで徐々にセットアップとタイムを詰めていき決勝に向けて最後の調整をしようと思っていた決勝日のウォームアップでリアを滑らせてしまい、ハイサイド転倒してしまいました。その際に背中を強打して病院に運ばれ第12胸骨骨折とうい診断を受けました。
シーズン前半戦でこのような怪我をしてしまってしばらくレースを離れることになりとても残念です。チーム、スポンサー、関係者の皆さんに心配をおかけしましたが今は医師と相談しながら早く回復できるように治療方法を模索しています。
僕自身の状態は、背中意外には問題はなく今すぐにでも戻りたいと思うくらいです。 しばらくはサーキットから離れなければなりませんが治療全力で頑張ります。

It was the first Moto GP to be held at Silverstone. The layout of the track was a hard one. Fast corners one after the other, bumpy and slippery…
My lap time and set up was improving each session and we were planning on adjusting our final set up. I high-sided and crashed during the warm up session on Sunday which made me land on my back so hard and was taken to a hospital straight away.
A broken 12th vertebra was diagnosed by a doctor… I am very disappointed with what happened… I was less than a half way through the season and I must be out for a while… I am sorry if I caused anxiety to the team, sponsors and the rest of you who are involved with me.
The doctor and I are in the middle of discussing how to recover as quickly as possible. I have no other problems; in fact I feel I can hop back on a bike right now. I will not be able to return for a while but I will be concentrating on how to recover for a quick come back! Thank you for all your support.

ＧＰの中でもハイスピードコースで、攻略、セットアップが難しいムジェロですが、初日から前回のレースデータを元に新しいセットアップにトライして、2日目からそのセットアップが良い方向に進み、午後の予選でも良い感触で10番手を確保出来ました。決勝は、スタート後の1コーナーで順位を下げてしまいましたが、そこから徐々にポジションを上げていき中盤には8位を狙えるところまで来ていました。このままシングルでフィニッシュ出来るかと思ったのですが、前半にタイヤを上手くマネージメント出来なかったせいで後半大きくペースダウンを余儀なくされて最終的に11位でのゴールになりました。
予選の流れから期待していただけに悔しい結果ですが、今回の課題を次に繋げて頑張りたいと思います。今はとにかく悔しい気持ちでいっぱいです。

Mugello is a tough circuit. It is a high-speed course, setting up and conquest is always hard. We’ve tried the new settings from the first day, according to the race data from the last (previous) time. The new set up seemed to improve on the second day. I felt comfortable during the afternoon qualifying and scored 10th in the session.
During the race I was left behind after the first corner in the first lap, however I was gradually up in the position fighting for the 8th. I thought I was able to finish the race with a single digit but unfortunately I was not managing my tyres very well in the first half, and slowing down was unavoidable. After all I finished 11th.
As qualifying session went quite well this result was very disappointing. I learn from my mistakes although it is an opportunity for me to improve in the future but… it was a regrettable race…
Thank you for all those who joined the “Honda Support Tour” to fly all the way to Italy from Japan. I enjoyed those delicious souvenirs!
