Yesterday I was told by one of my staff that Koki was in a car accident and he had passed away. It is heart breaking and I can still not believe this has happened. He was a loving brother to Yuki and we used to train together a lot at Okegawa. He always had a smile on his face and truly was a kind boy. Why has he gone? The last time I caught up with him was end of last year. No matter how busy we were he’s good-byes were always with a smile. This is just too sudden and I can still not believe that this is really happening. I’m sure he was looking forward to a whole new season, which was about to start. I will greatly miss him and his riding….. Rest in Peace.

昨日、江紀が交通事故で亡くなったと関係者より連絡を頂きました。 まだ信じられません、現実であると思うと辛く悲しい思いです。江紀とは裕紀を始め桶川での練習でよく一緒になった裕紀の可愛い弟でした。いつも笑顔で、二男坊らしい優しい子だったのに、なぜ逝ってしまったのか。最後に会ったのは昨年末、忙しい中でも別れる時はいつも笑顔だったのを良く覚えています。あまりに突然でまだ信じられません。
今年は、心機一転本人も新たなシーズンをきっと楽しみにしていたと思います。彼の走りが見られないのがとても残念です。

My helmet was sold at an internet charity auction for “Save Japan”. Helmet is one of the most important equipment to use while riding. Performance in safety, comfort and design are all the important points when it comes to choosing a helmet. The one that I am currently using has a Katana/Scabbard on the back and a Samurai on top. I really like both my old design and my new design. Recently I have been getting a lot of quieries regarding my replica, and I would like to announce that my replica will be on sale to the public from May. 先日はSaveJapanのチャリティーオークションでヘルメットが落札されましたが、やはりヘルメットは、バイクを乗るうえで身をまもる大事な用具の一つです。安全性能、快適さはもちろんデザインもポイントになります。今使っているデザインは昨年の後半から出てきましたが、後部に刀と鞘、上部に侍、全体には刀をイメージしたデザインが入っています。色も今までとは違った落ち着いた色使にしました。以前の物も今の物もラインが違うデザインで両方とも気にいっています。ここ最近、新しいヘルメットのレプリカ販売はありますかと聞かれることも多かったのですが、ついにそのレプリカが５月に発売される事になりました。　詳しくはインフォメーションに記載したいと思いますが、アライヘルメットのＨＰでも案内がされていると思います。

San Carlo is the main sponsor for our team from Italy and they produce snacks such as potato chips. We hardly ever see it in Japan but I have seen many of their products and their delivery trucks here in Italy. Simoncelli and I have done a promotional photo shoot in February so soon these (picture above) will be replaced with our photos. A confectionary company as a main sponsorship for Moto GP clearly shows why Rossi and Simoncelli are so popular over here.
Here in Italy, I’ve heard rumours that Ducati are expecting Rossi’s progress on their bike and are in urgent situation for developing. There are strong possibilities that the influence may still change for this season. I heard Lorenzo on TV last night how he is concerned about Rossi for this season…. I wonder what will happen?? チームのメインスポンサーは、イタリアでチップスなどを作っているSan carlo社です。 なかなか日本では目にすることはありませんが、イタリアではいろいろな所で、商品や商品を運ぶトラックをみかけます。イメージカラーは綺麗な白と赤のロゴマークです。2月にはこの様に、ポスター撮りを行ったのでもうそろそろシモンチェリと僕の写真に切り替わる頃。製菓のメーカーがＭｏｔｏＧＰのメインスポンサーを務めるなんて、国内でのロッシ、シモンチェリの人気が高い事を示しているきがします。
そんなイタリアでは今年のロッシの活躍を期待してドカティーもいろいろ開発を急いで進めているとの噂が聞こえてきます。 今シーズンはまだ勢力図が変わる可能性が大です。そんな中、昨日ロレンゾはＴＶで今年のロッシは心配なとコメントしていたそうです。今後どうなるか。

Apart from my fall during the qualifying, the feel of the bike was improving and I was hoping to improve my time in dry condition, although I was not confident on finishing the whole race due to my knee injury which was caused from my crash. The final race was again in the wet which I got away from putting too much pressure on my knee. It was hard for me to judge if the rear tyre was going to keep up as there was only a little rain. I kept at my own pace at the start till I was more comfortable with the feel of the bike and the tyres. I had some trouble trying to get my self out of the group which caused me a delay but it turned out better as I was able to keep my tyres in good condition till the end of the race. I was trying to catch up to Hayden who was in 3rd place but I was unable to and I finished 4th in the race. It was such a regrettable result but this is racing. No one can predict a result.
There was a lot of crash and it turned out to be a tough race, but I would like to look forward to performing better in a dry condition next. Thank you for your support!

予選での転倒を除けばマシンのフィーリングは徐々に良くなってきていたので、ドライではもう少し詰められるかなと思うところでしたが、転倒の影響で膝を痛めてしまい決勝の周回をこなせるかは不安がありました。しかし、決勝は天候がウェットになり膝への負担が減り大分助かりました。レースは小雨となりタイヤにとっては、水の量が少なく後半タイヤが保つのかは判断が難しいところでしたが、序盤は、マシン、タイヤのフィーリングが落ち着くまでペースを抑えて、中盤からペースを上げて行きました、グループを抜け出すのに手間取ってしまい、予想外のロスをしてしまいましたが、しかし、その分後半にタイヤをキープ出来たので、最後までペースを維持して追い上げていき、最後は3位のヘイデンに迫りましたがあと少し届かなかったです。4位、悔しいーしかしこれがレース、最後まで何があるかわからない。
レースとしてはとても悔しいですが、転倒の多かった難しいレースを無事に走り切ることができたので、次はドライでのパフォーマンスを上げて行けるようにしていきたいと思います。 皆さんの応援ありがとうございました。
