It’s been a tough week… The weather was good on Friday and the bike felt quite good. But unfortunately the weather and the ground temperature dropped for Saturday and on Sunday and it was an insisting challenge for me to set up the bike and also to control the tyres.
I made many changes but I was unable to resolve my final plan for the race. I was uncomfortable with the whole race and finished 8th. It was disappointing not being able to ride the way I wanted to, but hopefully we will be able to problem solve the concerns we have in the next few races. Next race is the Spanish GP in Catalunya. This is where I am based so hopefully I will be able to get out of this difficult situation and perform better.

今週は、ウィ―クを通して難しいレースになりました。天候の良かった金曜日はまずまずの感触で走れましたが、気温、路面温度が共に下がった2日目、決勝は、セットアップの方向性とタイヤの使い方が上手く噛み合わず、かなり苦戦を強いられました。いろいろな変更をトライしましたがこれといった解決策が出せないまま決勝になり、レースは思うように走れない中で耐えて8位でゴールしました。今回は本来の走りに持って行けなかったのが敗因、なんとかここ数戦で抱えている問題を解決していきたいです。
次戦は、拠点としているスペインのカタルニアＧＰなので、この状況を抜け出せるように頑張りたいと思います。

We struggled a bit for the set up as the ground condition was different every session, but we got the bike going in a fairly good condition for the race.
It was a challenge for me to raise the temperature on my rear tyre and I tried my best to hold on and not to push in the first half. Gradually I was raising my position and I was battling with Crutchlow for a 7th position. We have both overtaken each other so we knew exactly where would be the best place to pass one another. It was a tough battle especially in the last 3 laps. I managed to overtake him again on the first corner in the last lap, and tried my hardest to keep up with a good lap time in the last half section of the track to keep away from him. I couldn’t improve my lap time during the qualifying so 7th in the race was pretty good. Thank you to my team who worked hard to build my bike in such good condition.

今回は、路面コンディションが毎セッション変わる難しい中でのセットアップに苦労しましたが、決勝では上手くまとめて良い状態でレースをすることが出来ました。路面の影響からかリアの温度を上げるのが非常に難しかったなかで、序盤はギリギリのペースで我慢になりました。中盤からは徐々にポジションを上げて最後はクラッチロウとの7番手争いになり、お互いに一度は前を走り両者の速い所遅い所を確認していたので、難しい駆け引きでしたが、ラスト3周でスパートを掛けかけてきたところを、最終ラップの1コーナーで再度前に出て、後半セクションでタイムが良かった所をいかして逃げました。
予選ではタイムがなかなか伸びなかったので決勝での7位は、まずまず、最後までプッシュ出来たので、良い状態にマシンを仕上げてくれたチームに感謝です。
